    Abstract

    L’ambito di riferimento della proposta è l’elettronica di potenza applicata ai settori meccatronico e automotive. L’elettronica di potenza è una tecnologia abilitante basata su dispositivi elettronici di potenza per controllare in modo efficiente e affidabile la potenza elettrica per applicazioni come automotive (xEV = veicoli elettrici a batteria e ad idrogeno, veicoli ibridi), mobilità elettrica (carica batteria on-board e off-board), integrazione nella rete elettrica delle sorgenti rinnovabili (solare, vento) e di accumulo, azionamenti elettrici ad alta efficienza per automazione e sistemi industriali, data centers, elettrodomestici, alimentatori per sistemi elettronici.Prima Eectro Spa, fondata nel 1978, progetta, produce e commercializza elettronica industriale dedicata ed è il primo produttore italiano di controlli numerici. Per ampliare la sua gamma di prodotti, Prima Electro intende sviluppare una nuova linea di convertitori elettronici di potenza ad alto livello tecnologico per il settore industriale e della mobilità elettrica.Nella proposta ROCKET, Prima Electro Spa e Politecnico di Torino intendono sviluppare una nuova piattaforma elettronica di potenza per azionamenti elettrici e per la conversione statica dell’energia, insieme ad un prototipo di linea di produzione intelligente ad alta efficienza energetica, in linea con gli obiettivi dell’Elettronica di Potenza 4.0 relativi all’introduzione dei dispositivi elettronici di potenza basata sui nuovi materiali, nuove topologie e soluzioni di controllo e di testing.

    Abstract

    The project HiEFFICIENT will boost the design and development of the next generation’s highly efficient electrified vehicle systems, charging infrastructure and test-systems through efficient, highly integrated and modularized power electronics, securing Europe's top position in industry and research along the value chain of vehicle-, semiconductor- and test-system- design and manufacturing.HiEFFICIENT aims at the integration of wide-bandgap power electronics. This will be investigated on component (e.g., System on Chip, System In Package), subsystem (e.g. embedding of power electronics components in PCBs) and system level (e.g. traction inverter with on-board-charger) to achieve a significant volume reduction of up to 40% compared to the current state of the art, using wide-bandgap semiconductors.

    Abstract

    The project objective of the project HiPERFORM is based on the investigation of industrial applicability of high-performance semiconductors with wide-band gap materials in the field of Smart Mobility. For this purpose, a holistic approach is selected that includes the entire supply chain - from the manufacturer of semiconductors as well as power modules through suppliers of development methods and tools to the system manufacturer and ultimately the vehicle manufacturer. The integration of academic partners with a high level of competence in these domains completes this approach. On the other hand, specific requirements for power electronics are addressed in specific application areas, which include both power inverters in the vehicle, electrical charging modules inside and outside the vehicle, as well as the associated development and test systems.The high performance spectrum of wide-band gap semiconductors and the resulting potential for improvement and savings within the concrete applications of the electrified power train contribute to a substantial saving of CO2 in transport and thus support the achievement of the set climate targets in Europe. The jointly planned objectives and research activities will further strengthen European research and industry partners in the field of electronic components and systems.Besides Semiconductor manufacturing capabilities, the project requires also high capabilities in Cyber Physical Systems and Design Technologies and supports the domain Smart Mobility and Smart Energy as well.
